New Hampshire Environmental Educators (NHEE) is proud to announce Chris Marks as the recipient of the 2024 Environmental Educator of the Year award for his extraordinary contributions to environmental education in New Hampshire.

Chris has been a devoted educator for more than 20 years, inspiring students of all ages to take an active role in their learning and community. Through his innovative teaching methods, Chris has raised awareness among his students of what it means to live in the North Country of New Hampshire and how our environment, academics, and social-emotional well-being are all interconnected.

As an experienced educator, Chris has developed and implemented various engaging programs and initiatives that have had a significant impact on Littleton High School and Little Academy students. He played an integral role in launching their Ride for Focus program, which promotes cycling as an outlet for students to enhance their cognitive, physical, and socio-emotional well-being.

Chris's passion for environmental education has not gone unnoticed. His colleague, Stephanie Potter, said, "By getting kids to fall in love with the outdoors, Chris is teaching them the need to be stewards of the environment. They learn about personal responsibility, dedication, and the benefits of the outdoor environment on our mental health. Through his programs, Chris has created a generation who are passionate about getting outside and truly living where they live."

NHEE board president, Lindsay Webb, said, "We are delighted to present Chris Marks with this award in recognition of his outstanding contributions to environmental education. Chris is an inspiration to us all, and his dedication to promoting outdoor learning is truly commendable."

Chris Marks received the Environmental Educator of the Year award at the SOLD OUT New Hampshire Environmental Educators Conference and Annual Meeting on March 19, 2024. Please join us in congratulating Chris on this well-deserved recognition.
